Building Societies Act 1965

Register of building societies

121C: Registrar may require document to be registrable or otherwise comply before registration

You could also call this:

“Registrar can ask for changes to documents before adding them to building society records”

The person in charge of keeping records of building societies, called the Registrar, can refuse to add a document to the official records if it doesn’t meet certain standards. Here are the reasons why the Registrar might not accept a document:

If it’s not in the right form, if there’s a specific form it should be in. If it doesn’t follow the rules set out in the law or related regulations. If it’s not typed or printed. If the records are kept on a computer and the document can’t be easily added to the computer system. If the document hasn’t been filled out properly. If parts of the document are hard to read.

If the Registrar doesn’t accept a document for these reasons, they will ask for one of two things: Either fix the document and send it again, or Send a completely new document instead.

This helps make sure all the records for building societies are clear, correct, and easy to manage.
