Evidence Act 2006

Evidence from overseas or to be used overseas - Rules and regulations

200: Rules and regulations

You could also call this:

"Guidelines for following the Evidence Act when giving evidence from overseas"

The law says rules can be made to help this part of the Evidence Act work. You need to follow these rules when giving evidence from overseas or to be used overseas. The rules can be made under the Senior Courts Act 2016, the District Court Act 2016, and the Family Court Act 1980.

The Governor-General can make regulations to help this part of the Act work. You have to pay fees and expenses when taking evidence under this part of the Act. The Governor-General can make regulations about how much you have to pay and what you have to pay for.

The regulations made under this part of the Act are secondary legislation, which means they have to be published in a certain way, as explained in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
