Illustration for Medicines Act 1981

You have a licence to make medicines, it lets you make, pack, label and sell them. You can only do this with the medicines described in your licence. A licence to sell medicines by retail does not let you sell prescription medicines or restricted medicines. You have a licence to sell medicines, it has conditions that you must follow. These conditions are set by the licensing authority or by regulations. Your licence only lets you make, pack, label or sell medicines in the premises specified in your licence. A licence to operate a pharmacy lets you set up the pharmacy and do pharmacy work there. You must follow the conditions of your licence and any regulations. This means you can only do what your licence says you can do, in the place it says you can do it.
