Illustration for Medicines Act 1981

The licensing authority can ask you for more information when you apply for a licence to operate a pharmacy. They can ask for this information for several reasons, including to find out about the people involved in the pharmacy. They may also ask to check if you are a fit and proper person to run a pharmacy, as required by section 51(1)(b) and section 55A(1). If you do not give the licensing authority the information they ask for within 30 days, your application will lapse. The licensing authority can give you more time to provide the information if they want to. You must give them the information they need to process your application. The licensing authority needs this information to make a decision about your application. They use this information to assess your application and make sure you can run a pharmacy safely. You have to provide the information they ask for to get a licence.
