You can get an infringement notice revoked before you pay the fee. The ranger can revoke the notice before you pay or before a court orders you to pay a fine under section 21 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957. The ranger must tell you that your notice has been revoked. You can still get in trouble for the same thing even if your notice is revoked. The revocation does not stop further action against you as described in section 56(1)(a) or (b). The ranger must take reasonable steps to inform you about the revocation. The revocation of your notice is not the end of the matter. You might still have to deal with the issue that led to the notice. The ranger's decision to revoke your notice does not mean you are off the hook.
