You need to lodge a planning document with the regional council and other agencies. The regional council must have jurisdiction in the region to which the planning instrument relates. You also need to lodge it with the chief executive and any other agencies whose jurisdiction is relevant to the planning document, as referred to in sections 88 to 91A. You lodge the planning document with these people. It is deemed registered 20 working days after it is first lodged with an agency. This means the planning document is not effective until it is lodged. The planning document must be lodged with the right people for it to be effective. This includes the regional council and the chief executive. It also includes any agencies referred to in sections 88 to 91A that are relevant to the planning document.
