The chief executive keeps a marine and coastal area register as a permanent record. You can find information about recognition orders and agreements in this register. The register also includes planning documents and notices about controls imposed by the Minister of Conservation. The chief executive must add a document to the register quickly after receiving it. This can happen under sections like section 86, 97, or 110. The chief executive can also add a document when an agreement starts under section 96(1). The chief executive only adds a document to the register if it meets all the requirements. If something goes wrong because of this section, the Crown does not have to pay compensation for any loss or damage.
