When you deal with matters under the Ombudsmen Act 1975 that relate to services or support delivered by Oranga Tamariki or care and custody providers, some parts of this Act apply to you. These parts include preliminary provisions, duties in relation to complaints and investigations, sharing of information, disclosure of information, and referrals of matters. You can find these in Part 1, section 39, section 51, section 52, and section 56.

Nothing in this Act changes the functions, duties, and powers you have under the Ombudsmen Act 1975. This means you still do your job as you normally would. You follow the rules that apply to you.
