Illustration for Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System Act 2022

The Monitor has to work together with the Māori Advisory Group when they are making plans and deciding what to focus on. You can think of the Monitor like a watchdog that makes sure things are working properly. The Monitor must listen to what the Māori Advisory Group thinks when they are developing their priorities and work programmes. The Monitor must show every year on their website how they listened to the Māori Advisory Group's views. This means the Monitor has to explain on their Internet site what they did to take the Māori Advisory Group's thoughts into account.
