Illustration for Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System Act 2022

When you look at how the Monitor works, you need to know they must make their own decisions. The Monitor is in charge of checking on Oranga Tamariki and they must do this job on their own, without being told what to do by others. This means the Monitor acts independently when doing their job under this Act and other laws, except the Crown Entities Act 2004, unless the law says otherwise.
