The Monitor has to try really hard to work with hapū, iwi, and Māori organisations. You will see them do this to make the Oranga Tamariki system better and to share information. They want to hear your ideas on how to improve things.

The Monitor wants to share information with hapū, iwi, and Māori organisations as part of the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System Act 2022. This is so they can work together to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Other laws that are already in place will still apply when it comes to sharing information, and this provision does not change that.
