When information rules are made under section 49, they must say how to collect information under section 45. You need to know how the information is collected and what methods are used. The rules must also cover how the information is used, stored, and disposed of.

The rules must make sure the information is accurate and complete. They must also say how the information can be shared with others under this Act. This includes sharing information between hapū, iwi, and Māori organisations and the Monitor under section 19.

The information rules must be clear about who can see the information and how it is kept safe. This helps keep the information private and secure. The rules are important to make sure the information is handled correctly.
