Illustration for Parole Act 2002

If you get a prison sentence for not paying money, disobeying a court order, or disrespecting the court, and you are not already in prison, your sentence starts on the day you are taken into custody. You will begin serving your sentence from that day. The rules about this are similar to those in the 1985 legislation.
