85: Pre-cd sentences do not have non-parole periods

You could also call this:

"Pre-cd sentences don't have a set time before you can apply for parole."

Illustration for Parole Act 2002

If you get a pre-cd sentence, it does not have a non-parole period under the Parole Act 2002. This means the chief executive does not have to decide on a non-parole period for your sentence, except in one specific situation described in section 84(5). The usual rule in section 88(1) about deciding non-parole periods does not apply to pre-cd sentences.
