When you get money for election programmes and advertisements, you can only use it for certain things. You must use the money for the purposes specified in section 74(1). You also have to follow any conditions that are imposed under section 79(1)(b). You can spend as much money as you like on broadcasting costs, publication costs, and production costs, as long as you follow the rules in the Electoral Act 1993. This means you can spend money on things like broadcasting costs for candidate election programmes, publication costs for election advertisements, and production costs for party election programmes, candidate election programmes, or election advertisements.
