Illustration for Defence Act 1990

You work in the Civil Staff for the Defence Force. The Chief of Defence Force can move you to a different job within the Civil Staff. This can happen if the Chief thinks your current job is no longer needed or if there are too many people doing your job. The Chief does not have to follow certain rules, like those in sections 62 and 63, but they must talk to you about the change and consider your employment agreement. You can be moved to a different job without the rules in section 67 applying. The Chief of Defence Force makes these decisions about your job.
