88Giving false certificate, etc

  1. Every person commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to a fine not exceeding $1,000 who, in New Zealand,—

  2. gives any certificate; or
    1. makes any return or statement in writing—
      1. that the person knows to be false concerning any matter in respect of which the person is required by or under this Act to render any such certificate, return, or statement.
