Illustration for Defence Act 1990

You are a member of the cadet forces. If you get hurt, you might be eligible for a war pension. The rules from the Veterans' Support Act 2014 apply to you. You are treated like a member of the forces when you take part in activities with your unit. You are also protected by section 9 of the Crown Proceedings Act 1950. This means you are treated like a member of the Armed Forces. Your participation in activities with your unit is like serving in the Armed Forces.
