The Governor-General can make rules about infringement offences on the recommendation of the Minister. You need to know that these rules can include the format of infringement notices and reminder notices. The rules can also say what information must be in those notices and how much the infringement fee will be. The Governor-General makes these rules by Order in Council. You can find out more about how these rules are published by looking at Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. These rules are called secondary legislation. The Minister helps the Governor-General make these rules. You can look at the rules to see what they say about infringement offences. The rules are made to help with the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003.
