Illustration for Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003

When you borrow money, you need to know how much it will cost. Every lender must make sure you can find this information easily. They must show their fees and interest rates clearly on their website or in their office. If a lender has a website, they must display their credit fees and interest rates on it. If they have an office, they must have a notice saying you can ask for this information for free. You can ask for this information at any time, and the lender must give it to you straight away. The lender can show their interest rates as a range, like 10-20%. They must make sure the information they give you is correct and easy to understand. You can find more information about this in the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003.
