Dog Control Act 1996

Miscellaneous provisions

78D: Regulations amending Schedule 5

You could also call this:

"Changing the rules for dog training organisations that help people with disabilities"

The Governor-General can change the rules in Schedule 5 by adding or removing the name of an organisation that helps train dogs to assist people with disabilities. You can think of the Governor-General as a person who makes big decisions for the country. The Governor-General can also change the details of an organisation already listed in the schedule.

The Minister must recommend these changes after talking to the Minister for Disability Issues. This means the Minister has to discuss the changes with the person in charge of helping people with disabilities.

These changes are called secondary legislation, which you can learn more about in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
