Dangerous and menacing dogs

33F: Owner must advise person with possession of dangerous or menacing dog of requirement to muzzle and leash dog in public

"Tell dog minders to muzzle and leash your dangerous dog in public"

If you own a dog that has been classified as dangerous under section 31 or menacing under section 33A or section 33C, you need to know some rules. You must tell someone who is looking after your dog for up to 72 hours that they have to muzzle and leash the dog when it is in public, as stated in section 32(1)(b) or section 33E(1)(a). If you do not tell them, you can get a fine of up to $500.
