Equal Pay Act 1972

Pay equity claims - Consolidation of claims

13P: Effect of consolidation

You could also call this:

"What happens when multiple pay claims are combined into one claim to sort out equal pay issues"

When multiple claims are combined, this section applies. You will know this has happened if multiple union claims with one employer are combined as required by section 13M, or if all parties agree to combine an existing claim with a new claim. This can happen when a union raises a claim with an additional employer or a new employer, as stated in section 13O.

The parties involved in each claim must do an assessment, as required by section 13ZD. They must work together to do this assessment.

The parties must also choose appropriate comparators, as required by section 13ZE. This means they must select the right people or groups to compare with.
