Equal Pay Act 1972

Pay equity claims - Determination by Authority

13ZZA: Effect of determinations on discontinued claims

You could also call this:

"What happens to your pay claim if your employer stops it"

If you make a pay equity claim and your employer decides to stop it, this section of the law applies. Your employer can stop your claim by giving you notice of a decision, such as saying your claim does not meet all the requirements or that it does not have merit. This section and others, including sections 13ZZAA to 13ZZAD, explain what happens to your claim when your employer stops it.

When your employer stops your claim, they must give you a reason for their decision, which could be based on section 13PB, section 13Q, section 13ZEA, or section 13ZEB. These sections of the law outline the rules for stopping a pay equity claim.

The law sets out how determinations by the Authority or the court affect your stopped claim, so you know what to expect if your employer stops your pay equity claim.
