30C: Duration and renewal of accreditation

You could also call this:

“How long accreditation lasts and how to renew it”

When you get a letter of accreditation, it usually lasts for 3 years from the day you get it. You can ask to have it renewed if it hasn’t been taken away or stopped for any reason.

If you want to renew your letter, you need to write to the Secretary. You might need to use a special form and pay a fee.

The Secretary will renew your letter for another 3 years if you:

  • Ask for it to be renewed
  • Pay any fee that’s required
  • Still meet all the rules for having the letter

If you ask to renew your letter at least 3 months before it runs out, but the Secretary hasn’t decided about it before your letter expires, your letter will stay valid until the Secretary makes a decision.
