Freedom Camping Act 2011

Preliminary provisions

7: Meaning of conservation land

You could also call this:

“What counts as conservation land in this law”

In this law, conservation land means any area of land that the Department of Conservation manages or controls under a conservation law. This includes parts of these areas too. However, it’s important to know that if any of this land is always underwater, it doesn’t count as conservation land under this law. This definition helps you understand what areas the law is talking about when it mentions conservation land.
