Freedom Camping Act 2011

Where freedom camping permitted - Freedom camping on conservation land

15: Where freedom camping on conservation land permitted

You could also call this:

“Where you can go freedom camping on nature areas owned by the government”

You can go freedom camping on conservation land unless it’s not allowed. There are a few ways freedom camping might not be allowed. It could be restricted or prohibited by a notice made under section 17, or it might not be allowed because of a conservation law or another law.

If you want to freedom camp in a motor vehicle on conservation land where only self-contained vehicles are allowed, you need to show a special card. This card is called a warrant card, and you must display it in your vehicle.
