Schedule 3: LINZ land exempt from consultation requirement
You could also call this:
“Land where you can camp without asking permission first”
This schedule lists some areas of land managed by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) that don’t need consultation for freedom camping. The list includes five places where you can camp without the usual consultation process.
Four of these camping spots are at Lake Dunstan. They are called Bendigo, Champagne Gully, Jackson’s Inlet, and Lowburn. Each of these places has a specific legal description that shows exactly where the camping area is located.
There’s also one camping spot at Lake Pukaki called Pines Camp. Like the others, it has its own legal description to show its precise location. These places are special because they’re exempt from the normal rules about consulting before allowing freedom camping.
Schedule 3: Bylaws breach of which deemed infringement offence, or
“Rules about camping that can get you in trouble if you break them”
