86Director of Addiction Services
The Director-General of Health must appoint, under the Public Service Act 2020, a Director of Addiction Services.
The Director is responsible for the general administration of this Act under the direction of the Minister and the Director-General of Health.
For the purposes of performing his or her functions, the Director—
- may, at any time and without previous notice, visit any treatment centre; and
- must be given access to every part of the treatment centre and to every patient in it.
Section 99(2) and (3) applies in relation to a Director’s visit to a treatment centre under subsection (3) as if the Director were a district inspector.
