If you are in a treatment centre because of a substance addiction, your doctor might move you to another centre. They can do this if they think it will help you get better. They make this decision based on what they think is best for your treatment.

Before your doctor can move you to another centre, they need to get permission from the person in charge of the new centre. They also need to think about what you want and what the people who care about you think, like your main caregiver, welfare guardian, or the person you have chosen to support you.

If your doctor decides to move you to another centre, they need to tell the Area Director who is in charge of the area where the new centre is located. This is so everyone knows what is happening and can help you get the treatment you need.
