You could also call this:

"People chosen by the Minister to supervise and ensure correct treatment of people with substance addiction issues in certain areas are called district inspectors."

Illustration for Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 2017

The Minister chooses lawyers to be district inspectors for certain areas. You can think of a district inspector as a kind of supervisor who makes sure things are done correctly. The Minister decides how many lawyers are needed for this job and where they will work.

The Minister must make sure the lawyers chosen are not already working at a treatment centre in the area they are appointed to. This is to avoid any conflicts of interest. The Minister also decides how much district inspectors get paid, and this can be changed if needed.

A district inspector's job lasts for three years, but they can be reappointed if the Minister thinks it's a good idea. If a district inspector is not doing their job properly, they can be suspended or removed from their position by the Minister. The Minister can also appoint someone for a shorter time if a district inspector leaves their job suddenly and a replacement is needed quickly.
