or “Tenancy Mediators can visit and look around your home to help solve problems, but they need to tell you first.”

You could also call this:

“The top renting judge can give advice to help everyone follow the renting rules the same way across New Zealand.”

The Principal Tenancy Adjudicator can give out instructions to help everyone understand and use the law in the same way across New Zealand. These instructions can be directions, notes, guidelines, or suggestions. They are meant to guide other Tenancy Adjudicators, people who work at the Tribunal, and people who come to the Tribunal with their cases. The Principal Tenancy Adjudicator can do this whenever they think it’s needed or helpful. However, these instructions must not go against what the law says or any rules made under section 116.
