Part 1Preliminary provisions

3Purpose

  1. The purpose of this Act is—

  2. to make it harder for criminals to dispose of stolen goods through secondhand dealers and pawnbrokers; and
    1. to make it easier for the Police to recover stolen goods and solve property crimes; and
      1. to repeal and replace the Secondhand Dealers Act 1963 and the Pawnbrokers Act 1908.
