When you give something to a pawnbroker as a pledge, they must check who you are. They can do this by looking at your identification or knowing you personally. If they know you, they must make sure the details they have about you are correct. If a pawnbroker knows you, but their records have wrong details, it is like they made a mistake on purpose. They can also use other methods to check your identity, as long as they are allowed to do so. You must be who you say you are when you give something to a pawnbroker.
