Obligations of certificate holders

32Obligation to show certificate

  1. At any time when a certificate holder is engaged in secondhand dealing or pawnbroking, he or she must, on request by a constable, show his or her certificate to that constable.

  2. A certificate holder commits an offence, and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000, if he or she fails without reasonable excuse to comply with a request under subsection (1).

  3. Section 83 applies to a charge under subsection (2).
