2Forms of authorised identification Empowered by s 4

The forms of identification that are authorised identification for the purposes of this Act are—

  • a current passport:
    1. a current New Zealand driver licence or a current overseas driver licence that contains a photograph:
      1. any current document containing a photograph that is issued for purposes of identification by the New Zealand Government:
        1. any document referred to in paragraph (a), paragraph (b), or paragraph (c) that has expired, but only if it expired less than 2 years before the date on which it is being used as identification:
          1. an 18+ card issued by the Hospitality Association of New Zealand:
            1. a current document issued by a New Zealand secondary or composite school to a student that—
              1. is issued for the purpose of identifying the student; and
                1. contains a photograph of the student.
