Licences: who must be licensed

7Pawnbrokers to be licensed

  1. Every person who acts as a pawnbroker must hold a licence.

  2. If 2 or more people act as pawnbrokers in partnership, each partner must hold a licence.

  3. A person who acts as a pawnbroker without holding a licence commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $20,000.
