10B: Giving of approval under section 10A

You could also call this:

"The ethics committee can approve something if it follows the rules and guidelines, and can even change its mind or add conditions later."

The ethics committee can give an approval under section 10A if the advisory committee has guidelines that cover giving approvals, and the ethics committee thinks the approval is consistent with those guidelines and any advice given by the advisory committee. You need to know that the ethics committee follows these guidelines when making decisions. The committee makes sure the approval is okay according to the guidelines.

If new information becomes available, the ethics committee can look again at an application for an approval, even if they said no before. The committee can change their mind for any reason they think is appropriate. You can think of this like getting a second chance.

The ethics committee can also give an approval with conditions that they think are necessary. This means they can say yes, but only if certain things happen or do not happen.
