Repeals, revocations, consequential amendments, and savings and transitional provisions

Schedule 2: Categories of information for purposes of sections 173 and 174

"Types of Information About Court Cases"

Illustration for Senior Courts Act 2016

You can find information about court cases in different categories. These categories include formal court records, court files, and information about particular cases. Formal court records are things like registers, lists of hearings, and judgments. You can also find information about court staff, like their personnel matters, and information about the court's budget. This includes things like how much money the court spends and how it uses its resources. There are rules about what information can be shared and what must be kept private. Some information is not available to the public, like a Judge's personal expenses or notes about a case. But other information, like statistics about court cases, can be shared as long as it does not identify individual people.
