Illustration for Limited Partnerships Act 2008

If you are a partner in a limited partnership and you have the Court's permission to bring a case, the Court can make decisions about what happens next. The Court can make any order it thinks is necessary, and this can include letting you or someone else control what happens in the case, which is allowed under section 82. The Court can also give instructions on how the case should be handled and ask the limited partnership or its general partners for information or help. The Court has the power to decide who gets any money that is awarded in the case, and it can say that the money should go to the partners instead of the limited partnership. You can find similar rules in s 167.
