Limited Partnerships Act 2008

General - Terminating events, liquidation, and deregistration

88: Liquidation following terminating event

You could also call this:

"What happens to a limited partnership when it ends and a liquidator is chosen"

Illustration for Limited Partnerships Act 2008

If a terminating event happens to a limited partnership, the partnership can choose a liquidator. This happens when the partners agree to it. You can find out what a terminating event is by looking at section 86. If the partners choose a liquidator, it does not stop someone from asking to deregister the partnership under section 98. You can still ask to deregister the partnership even if a liquidator is chosen.
