Overseas limited partnerships

109: Use of name by overseas limited partnership

You could also call this:

"Overseas limited partnerships must clearly state their name and home country in New Zealand business documents."

Illustration for Limited Partnerships Act 2008

If you are an overseas limited partnership that does business in New Zealand, you must make sure your name and the country where you were formed are clearly stated. You need to do this in written communications, like letters or emails, that you send or that someone sends on your behalf. You also need to do this in documents that you issue or sign, or that someone issues or signs on your behalf, that create a legal obligation for you.

When stating your name, you can use a shortened version of a word if it is commonly recognised and not misleading.

You can find more information about this by looking at s 338.
