This Act starts on a date chosen by the Governor-General. You can find out when this happens through an Order in Council. The Governor-General's order is a type of secondary legislation, which you can learn more about in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.

The order will be published, and this is how you will know when the Act starts. This publication is a requirement for secondary legislation. You can find more information about this in the Legislation Act 2019.
