Local Government (Rating) Act 2002

Rating of Māori freehold land - Effect of charging orders

105: Charging order in force until discharged

You could also call this:

"A charging order on Māori land stays in place until it's officially cancelled."

A charging order is made against Māori freehold land under section 101. You need to know this order stays in force until it is discharged. This means the order is still effective until it is officially cancelled.

If a charging order is made, section 113 of this Act and the Limitation Act 2010 still apply. These laws can affect how the charging order works. You should look at these laws to understand how they interact with the charging order.

The charging order will keep being in force until it is officially discharged, as long as it does not conflict with other laws.
