Schedule 2: Public service agencies

Illustration for Public Service Act 2020

The Public Service Act 2020 has a list of public service agencies. You can find these agencies in different parts. Part 1 is about departments, which are like big government teams. Some examples are the Department of Conservation and the Ministry of Health.

Part 2 is about departmental agencies and their host departments. A departmental agency is a smaller team that works with a bigger team, called the host department. For example, the Cancer Control Agency works with the Ministry of Health. Part 3 is about interdepartmental executive boards and their servicing departments. An interdepartmental executive board is a group of leaders from different departments who work together on a project. The servicing department helps the board with its work. Part 4 is about interdepartmental ventures, which are projects that different departments work on together. As of now, there are no interdepartmental ventures established.
