Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024

Water services delivery plans and foundational information disclosure requirements - Foundational information disclosure requirements - Offence

54: Offence relating to requirement to disclose information

You could also call this:

"Breaking rules about sharing water services information can get you in trouble"

If you know that water services have to share information, you must not break the rules on purpose. You can get in trouble if you do not follow the rules about sharing information. This can happen if you are told to share information and you do not do it on time.

If you break the rules, you can be fined up to $200,000 if you are an individual, or up to $1 million if you are a company or organisation. You can also get in trouble if you are given an order under section 53 and you do not follow it. This order tells you what to do and when to do it, and you must follow it to avoid getting fined.
