Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024

Alternative requirements and additional powers - Preliminary provisions

59: Reference to territorial authority includes Wellington Regional Council

You could also call this:

"Wellington Regional Council is also a territorial authority in this law"

When you read this part of the law, you need to know that it talks about territorial authorities. In this context, a territorial authority includes the Wellington Regional Council. This means that when the law mentions a territorial authority, it can also be referring to the Wellington Regional Council.

You should also understand that when the law talks about a territorial authority's district, it can mean a part of the Wellington Regional Council's region. This is important because it helps you know what the law is referring to when it mentions these terms. The law defines some of these terms in section 5, which can help you understand them better.
