If a coroner directs a body to be moved for a post-mortem, you need to know who pays for the transport. The responsible department pays for the body to be taken back to where it was when the coroner made the direction, or to where the post-mortem was done, as directed under section 31. The department also pays if the body is taken to another location, but only if it does not cost more than taking it back to the original location. This does not stop the department from paying for other transport costs for the body.
