69Procedure if some other investigation to be conducted

  1. This subsection applies to a responsible coroner in relation to a death who is satisfied that—

  2. an investigation into the death or the circumstances in which it occurred is being or is likely to be conducted under some enactment other than this Act; and either
    1. the matters specified in section 57(2)(a) to (e) (purposes of inquiries) are likely to be established in respect of the death by an investigation of that kind; or
      1. to open or continue with an inquiry would be likely to prejudice the investigation or any person interested in it.
        1. A coroner to whom subsection (1) applies may—

        2. postpone opening an inquiry into the death; or
          1. adjourn an inquiry already opened into it.
            1. A coroner who has under subsection (2) postponed or adjourned an inquiry may open or resume it if satisfied that—

            2. an investigation into the death or the circumstances in which it occurred is not likely to be conducted under any enactment other than this Act; or
              1. an investigation of that kind is being or is to be conducted, but—
                1. the matters specified in section 57(2)(a) to (e) (purposes of inquiries) are unlikely to be established in respect of the death by the investigation; and
                  1. to open or resume the inquiry will not prejudice the investigation or any person interested in it.
                  2. This section does not limit section 119.
