In the Coroners Act 2006, a coroner is a person appointed under section 103. This includes the chief coroner, the deputy chief coroner, a person who is a coroner because they are a District Court Judge under section 22(a) of the District Court Act 2016, and a relief coroner. You need to know that in some parts of the Act, coroner does not include the chief coroner. This happens in sections like section 105(2), section 105A(1), and section 106.
